Adjustable Magnetic-Control Design of a Metasurface for Sound Insulation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Magnetic field is one efficient approach to realize non-contact control of materials. Here, we propose a type membrane-based metasurface consisting several parts magnetorheological films embedded with magnetic particles, which enable sound insulation through field. The abundant degree freedoms in membrane-type metamaterials are explored by considering composite structures. Through numerical calculations, have investigated the effect excitation and film composition on acoustic properties performance for insulation. We find an optimized model better adjustability, wider band, more balanced performance.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

A sound absorbing metasurface with coupled resonators

An impedance matched surface is able, in principle, to totally absorb the incident sound and yield no reflection, and this is desired in many acoustic applications. Here we demonstrate a design of impedance matched sound absorbing surface with a simple construction. By coupling different resonators and generating a hybrid resonance mode, we designed and fabricated a metasurface that is impedanc...

Sound insulation issues

This paper gives an overview of three topics related to sound insulation in buildings. The first project included laboratory and field measurements of sound insulation against aircraft noise. As well as various technical papers, the project produced software to help in the design of adequate sound insulation. In a second project, re-analysis of survey results allowed the development of a ration...

Predicting the Sound Insulation of Walls

Between 1990 and 1998, the author published five conference papers which described the gradual development of a simple theoretical model for predicting the sound insulation of building partitions. The first aim was to extend Sharp’s model for cavity walls to cavities without sound absorption. The second aim was to remove the reported over prediction of Sharp’s model for cavity walls. The third ...
